5-Detective Mysteries was a short-lived detective pulp magazine that ran briefly in 1942-1943. Only three issues were published during its run:
- Volume 1, Issue 1: October/November 1942
- Volume 1, Issue 2: December/January 1942/43
- Volume 1, Issue 3: February/March 1943
The magazine was one of many detective-themed pulp publications that emerged during the golden age of pulp magazines, appearing alongside other notable titles like Detective Story Magazine and Black Mask.
However, unlike some of its more successful contemporaries such as Detective Story Magazine, which ran for 1,057 issues from 1915 to 1949, 5-Detective Mysteries had a very brief existence in the publishing world. Very little additional information about the magazine’s content, publishers, or contributors has been preserved in historical records. It represents one of the many short-lived experiments in detective fiction publishing during the pulp era of American magazine publishing.
